Let me firstly clarify exactly how the “freelancing” model works. Forgive me if I am telling you what you already know but we feel it very important that it’s clearly understood for your own benefit as we would not want you to get involved in something that is not financially viable for you.
Before we even get into that, allow me to explain a bit more about our operation.
This is a brand new business. It is situated right in the heart of Glasgow City Centre, right next to Central station. I have been helping my wife, Ying get the business set up for her to run, so am doing most of the back-office admin. and recruitment tasks.
We are a Bona Fide, professional business and will only operate as such and all services / treatments offered within our premises will be entirely professional and legal. No exceptions.
The premises is in a former office building and we have taken on the lease and converted what was an open plan office space into four treatment rooms.
You will work within a flexible rota from within our premises. You can develop all your own clients but will also get clients that book through us or walk ins depending on demand. Within this model, the usual financial spilt “House fees” is between 40 up to 50% to the Freelancer, the remainder to the business. There are no additional costs for electricity in this model.
When fully staffed and opened, our business will operate form 08:00 Hr’s till 20:00 Hr’s each day, including weekends. We will also be open on some public holidays as these have proven to be quite busy times within the industry in general in Glasgow.
We therefore require a level of staffing that can adequately cover these opening hours. Our long term aim is to generate enough business to have a high percentage of occupancy of the four treatment rooms for at least 70% of the business hours. This will take some time to develop, but it is our goal and we feel that with a strong marketing strategy we can achieve this.
Excellent relationship with landlord, so good long-term prospects within these premises.
Marketing of you and your services through our excellent professionally produced, maintained and actively managed web site. By this we mean we have a full-term contract with our web company that is fully actively managed to ensure great results and that we stay ahead with SEO rankings etc. to help us develop a larger and better customer base.
As the site is actively managed on an ongoing basis, we have regular meetings with our account manager to discuss what’s going on with our marketing strategy. This is a live active and dynamic process that is regularly and fully reviewed. It utilises not only a great deal of real human experience and skill but also Ai to help us get the best out of the site and our marketing strategy.
As a freelancer working within our business, you will have your own dedicated page within our website to showcase your own specific skills and experience as well as a profile section. You will without doubt, benefit from the significant advantages of this dynamic active web site management and the subsequent social media campaign that comes with it. As a freelancer you will be considered as part of our business in terms of web site and Social Media exposure. What’s good for you, is good for us and vice verse.
The premises is accessed through 2 x controlled access doors and a third locked door that immediately access the premises. We have also installed CCTV inside the premises covering the public areas only.
Toilets are communal within the building and are shared with other tenants. There is a fridge, microwave, kettle, rice cooker, crockery etc. in a small kitchen space by reception.
The premises is fully fitted with a centrally controlled fire alarm system including illuminated emergency exit signs and augmented with additional interlinked smoke detectors. Fire extinguishers and first aid equipment are installed in the premises.
